In an effort to
create more interesting background surfaces I started looking around
for patterns I could use as matrices. Naturally, wood grain came to
mind. I found a great on-line source for wood veneers used by hobbiests
for building models. Cherry, pine, oak and mahogany sheets come in a
large container and each is thin enough to be inked up and run through
the press.
